We are sorry to announce the sad demise of Prof. K Taranath Shetty which was a shock to all the members of ACBI and to those who know him as a person.

Prof. Shetty was a huge inspiration to young aspiring Clinical Biochemists. We will be remembering for his integrity, determination and his obsession for quality in whatever tasks he undertook. Prof. Shetty was an established Clinical Biochemist and Internationally recognised Scientist who gave a new dimension to the field of Medical Sciences.

He served as a Professor of Neuro Chemistry at NIMHAN’S (Bangalore) a prestigious Medical Institution in India . As the Former President of ACBI, his contributions are unparallel and being the prime mover of the Corporate Wing of ACBI, the committee saw new heights under the supervision and guidance of Prof. Shetty as a Chairman, Corporate Wing, ACBI. He also represented ACBI at the APFCB Council Meet held in Beijing.

This great loss can never be compensated.
